Lemon Water will help you lose weight
BY drinking water with lemon instead of soda can decrease your calorie intake in leaps and bounds in just one day.
Calories in soda, juice, coffee with sugar, they all add up in the course of one day. If you could just even have one meal with lemon water you will lose the weight.
I know it’s so hard to stop drinking the beverages you love, so try just one meal or two with plain lemon water. Did I say it is also wonderful for your health? Let me tell you this. You will be amazed at what drinking lemon in your water can do for your body.
But first, let me tell you how I do it.
I order water with lemon every time I go to a restaurant. I squeeze the lemon and drop it in my water. Then I pick at it with my straw to further the essence of the lemon to my water. It gives me something to do while I wait for my food. Lol. You can use this tip on a boring date or when your somewhere you don’t want to listen to mindless chatter. Just channel your energy on picking at the lemon in your glass.
Lemon water will help you drop the weight simply by eliminating the calories of soda, juice, coffee with sugar. There is sooooo much sugar in these drinks. Just eliminating one a day will make a difference. I would not suggest you eliminate your favorite drinks altogether. That would just set you up to fail. One step at a time and results will happen.
Once you start drinking the water with lemon, you will eliminate these other beverages on your own.
Ordering a glass of water with lemon will also save you a ton of money. Soda and juice are pretty pricey in a restaurant so help your wallet while helping your body.
Let’s Talk About The Benefits of Lemon Water
Lemons are packed with vitamins and nutrients.
- vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and fiber.
- The vitamin C in the lemon is very important for stress. When you are stressed, you need more vitamin C to continue the boost on your immune system. That is why you get sick during very stressful times. When stress pulls your vitamin C from your body, your immune system suffers greatly.
- Potassium. For heart health, also great for the brain and nervous system.
- Lemon water is excellent for your intestines. It loosens toxins from your intestines and flushes them out.
- antioxidants in lemons will help decrease blemishes and help with skin radiance.
- Flushes out uric acid which causes inflammation in joints. Will relieve arthritis pain if you drink it every day.
- helps you become more energetic. When it enters your digestive tract, it will boost your energy.
- Helps with anxiety and depression. The scent of lemons has a calming effect on some people.
- Warm lemon water also helps ward off viral illnesses. Drinking warm lemon water will soothe your throat and also help your immune system fight off the sickness.
So, drinking more lemon water makes sense. Right? Can your soda give back to you?
I personally don’t drink soda, it’s just a preference. I know people who are so addicted to them like a drug. They have to have their soda. But the addiction is not the soda, it’s the sugar.
You can wean yourself off soda by cutting out just one a day. Simple? Not for some, but try hard to drink one less soda a day and your weight and health will benefit.
One can of soda
contains anywhere from 200 to 300 calories per glass. That may not seem like much but when you multiply that by how many you drink in one given day, it amounts to your daily total of calories. Most people should be consuming 1500 to 2000 calories a day to maintain a healthy weight. This can totally undermine your efforts to lose weight. Don’t try to make yourself feel better by drinking diet soda either. That, in itself, is worse. People who drink diet sodas will actually gain weight. Let me break it down for you.
Consuming high amounts of soda can affect your body by weight gain, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, poor dental health. Theses can lead to premature death.
One can of soda a day can lead to adding 14.5 pounds a year to your weight. unless you are active somewhat or working at a semi-strenuous job, you will pack on this weight.
Calories from sugar turn into fat much faster than other calories. Some experts say a calorie is a calorie, but calories from sugar turn to fat quicker.
When your body gets used to the sugar rush, it starts to control your ups and downs, giving you the only option to feed your body more sugar to regulate that rush.
Your body will not feel the fullness of the calories in a soda as opposed to the calories in food. This makes you consume more calories, Excess calories leads to weight gain.
By replacing only one meal a day with lemon water will help you lose weight and help your body more than any sugary drink. It is so much better for you and will make you feel better.
I am not saying to quit cold turkey. I am not trying to set you up to fail because you would fail. It’s an addiction and needs to be treated like an addiction. Slow and steady is the key. If you have lemon water with one meal for a couple weeks, maybe you’ll like it so much you will start drinking it more.
So, go grab some lemons and keep them on hand for squeezing in your water. Put some ice in that glass with some cold water and squeeze a few slices of lemon in it. How refreshing is that? You will feel it. Soda or sugar drinks cannot give you the healthy feeling like that. I hope that you will continue to drink this wonderful beverage on a daily basis. You will feel better and it is so good for you.
Anyone who tries to quit sugar drinks cold turkey will fail. It’s like smoking or drinking. No one can just stop. Oh, I have seen a few that did, but very rare. So don’t set yourself up to fail. Go slow and steady and you will eventually stop or at least slow down your consumption of sugar drinks.
Water is calorie free and we all know we need water to survive. It hydrates our body and flushes toxins and garbage from our kidneys and tissues. Adding lemon to our water adds so much more by flavor and vitamins and nutrients. Lemon water is packed with goodness.
