What is the KitchenAid?kitchen aid mixer

It’s a mixer with the capabilities to be so much more. I have one, my mom had one. If you seriously want to get into making your own, growing your own, and enjoying your own, this is the ultimate mixer to have.

I love it because I use it.

The projects I feature are made with my kitchenAiid. This is the best investment for mixers that I have ever had the pleasure to use. I think I went for one because my mom used one and she did everything with hers. It didn’t have all the wonderful new attachments that they offer now, but she used hers every single day. It’s great for mixing dough for bread, cakes, cookies, making butter and more.

My dog Sadie has skin allergies, and because I worry about her intake of chemicals and preservatives also, I make this concoction I call Shishkadog Soothe. It’s made of ground up oatmeal, baking soda, essential oil, and some water for watering down the oatmeal. With my grinder attachment that goes with my Kitchen Aid, I can grind that oatmeal down to a fine powder, and it works great on her. If you have, or know a dog that has skin allergies. Email me for the recipe. I will cover it in future posts, I just wanted to add that I could not help my pooch without my KitchenAid.

I know you will find ways to use and amaze yourself for what this machine can do. I would love to hear from anyone who has a KitchenAid. I know you love it as much as I do. If your not using it, shame on you, your missing out on a lot of great stuff you can do. Pull it down off that shelf and use it. I have lots of stuff coming your way to use it for.  If you are happily using your KitchenAid, please leave comments on what you love about your KitchenAid.

This kitchenAid is very strongkitchen aid with power

It packs a wallop of strength that in my opinion, beats all others for the price. You could buy one for $600.00 and does more than you’ll ever need. Those high end ones are mostly for culinary cooking.

I say you cannot go wrong on one of these babies. I know people that have one and it sits covered on their shelf. I ask them if they have any idea what their kitchen aid is capable of, they answer me with things like, they got it as a gift or, it was my moms, or I thought I wanted one, but hey, whatever. I just have to literally shake my head.

OMG are you Kidding Me?

That is what I usually say. This mixer is so useful, you would wonder how you got along without it. It’s a lifetime investment. They don’t break down if you use them properly. They mix the hardest of materials, like my anise cookie dough, I would break sweat mixing that without my kitchenAid.

  1. Hi Kitty! I’m from Michigan also, though on the other side of the state. I’m really enjoying your blog!
I’ve been wanting a KithenAid stand mixer for years! I’ve been making do with a budget FaberWare model I got second hand, and while it gets the job done it’s just such a pain to work with! Under-powered with a rickety stand.
I’m saving my pennies for KitchenAid, hoping I get to buy one before Christmas this year!

    1. Hi Dara. You definitely won’t be sorry. It is a beast. I honestly use mine all the time. I will never have to buy a new one, and all the attachments you can get for it and the sturdiness of the attachments are made to last a lifetime also. I hope you get a chance to own one. Please let me know how you love it after you use if for awhile. I hope to hear from you soon. I post so many projects that could use a good machine, and KitchenAid is my number one tool. Don’t forget to sign up for notifications of upcoming posts from this site.

  2. Your post is great. I had no idea that a Kitchenaid was as strong as you say and could be used for so many things. I’m not very savvy in the kitchen, but my husband is and he especially loves to bake. I know he’s looking to replace our beat up old blender. He especially loves to make exotic breads but some of those recipes are really tough and sticky doughs. Would a Kitchenaid cope with that?

    1. SC. Thanks for stopping by. Yes, the KitchenAid will work for any kind of dough. It has a very strong dough hook. I use my KitchenAid for everything. The attachments are the best I have ever seen. The Chopper/Grinder attachments will tackle your toughest project like a pro. You will buy this baby once and never have to buy another one again. I only review products on my site that I actually own, and I stand by my KitchenAid. My mom had one, I have one, my kids have one. It is the best of the best. I know it can handle any job, I have taken it to the limit many times. I made whip cream from low fat milk to show my son how powerful this machine is. I hope you will consider purchasing a KitchenAid for your needs. You cannot go wrong with one of these. The attachments are endless. I don’t have the pasta maker, but it is on my list. The splash guard is used all the time when I am making my homemade butter. Thank You for stopping by. I hope you got a chance to see the many projects I have on this site. You can use your KitchenAid in a lot of them…..

  3. Really enjoyed this write up on the kitchen aid mechanism…but I’m still struggling to pinpoint it’s best use?
What is it’s main purpose – is it just a mixer or can it go the whole hog and create sort of juices etc ( like a smoothie maker if you know what I mean )?
It does look as hard as nails in it’s construction

    1. Chris, It is a hard as nails machine. As far as juicing or smoothies, I use my bullet. you can click on my Amazon link on my site and find the best possible price for one of those. They are inexpensive. I buy all my stuff from Amazon. Haven’t had a problem yet, and the prices are very competitive.

The KitchenAid is the best mixer on the planet. The attachments are superior in quality. You can grind/chop/cut anything. I use it for many many foods that I prepare for the freezer. I cut my Zucchini in many different ways. I slice them chop them and grind them. The attachments do it all. I am working on getting the pasta maker attachment. I will probably go nuts with this one. I use the splash guard when I make homemade butter. You can make the most delicious whip cream in no time with your KitchenAid. It has multiple uses and different paddles for different jobs. My brother is still using the one my mom had from the 50’s. The mixing bowl is glass and it amazingly still fits in my newer one, along with the paddles and attachments. I found the grinder attachment at a resale shop. It probably was very old. It works great. Been using it for 13 years now.

The purpose of the KitchenAid is mixing. The attachments add more elements to the machine. I would never own any other mixer….Hope I answered your question. Please come visit me again sometime…..Thank you for stopping by.
